THE MIGHTY ABS

The abdominal muscles often referred to as the abs, that worshipped six pack. I don’t know about you but I find it difficult with these muscles and I am determined to find out why.

So why do I find it difficult? Well when I say difficult may be I am using the wrong term. Back at the beginning of March I was sharing my exercise weights program with you and when it came to the abs I was doing crunches with dumbells, abdominal curls and leg curls. Now I don’t find it difficult to do those exercises and I certainly have started to develop the ab muscles, so that’s cool right!

Whats your problem then ? I hear you say.

Well my problem is that although I can feel that the ab muscles are developing well. If I run my fingers up and  down my belly then I can feel the ab muscles and that’s great. But and its a big but, I can’t see them when I look in the mirror. I know the reason why I can’t see them and that is because they are covered over by a layer of fat.

So I believe this is my problem, the exercises I am doing for my abs are fine to develop my ab muscles, but they are not going to burn that fat away that is covering them. I have changed my diet quite a lot as a natural progression more than a conscious decision since I started my training program in January. So I know that my food intake has a lot less fat in it than it used to, I eat a pretty healthy diet now.

My last post was about Interval training and I am going to start using this method in my workouts from next week, I am quite confident that this will help me burn a lot more body fat than I am presently. Also I do intend to do some more cardio to help burn body fat. So may be I have already found the way I will let you know how that one goes.

But what I am going to do and I am quite determined about this is find a way to hit that fat covering my ab muscles hard and burn it away to expose these muscles. I know there are plenty of ab workouts available, in fact probably more than any other kind of body part exercise. But I am afraid I am very sceptical about most of them. They promise great abs overnight and I haven’t read any yet that refer to my problem in detail.

I know it will probably be hard work I am not worried about that I just want something real to hit that ab fat.

So I will be searching and when I find something that I think talks sense I will share.
