Home Gym
Do you prefer to workout at a Gym or do you prefer to workout at home. We are all different and there are those that will go to the Gym because they don’t have the space at home for equipment or just prefer the atmosphere in a Gym.Then there are those of us that don’t really like going to the Gym, this can be for a number of reason, like we don’t like having to travel, we don’t like having to wait for equipment to become free before we can use it (this can mess up your workout routine) or may be we prefer to train alone.
There are many pro’s and con’s to both methods, when I was younger I used to go to the Gym because it motivated me and If I travelled there then I was going to workout, also being with other people doing the same does give you motivation to work hard. These days I don’t need motivation, I just love it and if I had my own pool then I would not go to the leisure center at all.
So I want to look at the kind of equipment we can get to set up our own Home Gym, from the basics to the Fully Blown.
If you don’t have a great deal of space or a very big budget then you are going to want compact easily storable and cheap equipment.
Basics
Exercise Mat – Useful for an array of exercises in comfort
Exercise Ball – There is many fitness exercises that can be done with this piece of equipment.
Resistance Bands – Plenty of muscle building and fitness exercises can be done with these easy to use and easy to store pieces of equipment.
Dumbbell Set – You can get a basic set in the lower budget range that are easy to store.
Bench – A basic bench that can be used for exercises with or with out other equipment like weights.
Workout DVD Set – These can be used in conjunction with your other equipment or on their own.
These are just some of the basic equipment that can make up your Home Gym. In my next post I will continue this onto bigger and more substantial equipment.
