Home Gyms Continued

My last post Home Gym went through the preference to working out at home as opposed to a gym. I showed some examples of equipment for the short of space and low budget that want to workout at home. Now for the big equipment. Here we are going to look at the type of equipment that is available to us if space and money are not a problem. Now not all of this equipment is expensive but there are some items that do tend to be on the high side. The thing to remember is that if you buy good quality equipment then it is more or less if used properly going to last you pretty much forever. OK may be not forever but a very very long time. So when we look at it like this, although a big investment up front, when you spread the cost out over the years they become very cheap.

Now when it comes to our Home Gyms we can go as far as we want to in respect of equipment. We might only want one or maybe a couple of pieces or we may want to build a fully equipped Gym on apar with a professional Gym. The best and most ideal situation is to have a completely seperate room for your Gym space (some people use their garage), but one or two pieces of equipment in an already occupied room is fine.

So here we are going to look at some great bits of kit:

Equipment

Weights – There are a vast array of weights that are available for all budgets.

Dumbbells – These are great dumbbells that are good quality and save you buying loads of seperate ones with a rack.

Benches – These ones are more substantial for use with weights.

Exercise Bikes – Great for low impact cardio fitness.

Treadmills – These are some serious bits of kit.

Rowers – Here is a selection of air Rowing Machines and Gliders.

Ellipticals – These guys are for that Total Body Workout.

TreadClimber – These are for that effective low impact workout.

Home Gyms – Weights and Machines combined into one Total Home Gym Unit. These are real mean machines.

This kind of kit can build a serious Home Gym that would be on apar with a professional Gym. If you have the resources and the space then why not.
