LETS GO FOR A WALK
Yes we all know its true, walking is a great exercise and is good for your health. So why don’t we do it more often, after all its a natural exercise that can keep us fit and healthy. So lets go for a walk!
We know its good for our lungs and heart its a great cardio exercise. Going for walks can be a big adventure its a great way to see the area you live in, you would be surprise at the things you didn’t know about your local area that you will discover by walking around different parts of it. You will hear yourself saying ” I didn’t realise this was on my doorstep all this time”. Now I am lucky as I live on the coast so I can go for a walk along the beach or up into the surrounding hills. But whether you live on the coast in the country or in a city walking can still be an interesting activity that is good for your health.
So many of us don’t take advantage of this amazing obvious form of exercise, including me until recently. Once you decide to go for a walk at least once a week you will look forward to it. I have started to look at my local area on a map and pick out a small part of it and go and discover it by walking around it. Its also a great family activity something you can all do together. It doesn’t matter what age you are because its great for all ages.
So what you gonna do? I will tell you what you should do, go straight to your diary and make an entry for this weekend to go for a walk. I know you will enjoy it.
In my next post I am going to look at treadmills for all those people who would like to start walking more but would prefer to walk indoors.
The advantages of walking as opposed to treadmills are that you will get a more interesting walk. You will have more variety of movement as you might step up and down curbs, walk at different angles as you walk across a hill, up a hill or down a hill. You might come across a set of steps to walk up or down. You will also stop and start more than you would on a treadmill. So you can see that when you go for a walk as opposed to walking on a treadmill you will probably use more muscles.
So get walking!
